Travelled all the way to Seoul to present the poster from my last PhD paper From Geometry to Dynamics in the main meeting in ICML. Presented also my poster Learning to learn with reward-gated local plasticity from my recent work.
I am deeply grateful to have received a reviewer award that covered my conference registration fees, and an additional financial award that helped cover part of my travel expenses. This financial support made it possible for me to make the trip to Seoul!
The experience was rather intense. I ended up über-tired from moving between the super-hummid summer heat outside and the aggressively air-conditioned indoors (I never realized before that such a change of temperature is sooo tiresome). Still, it was great to experience one tenth of the city whenever I had time.
